I forgot to say a word about podcasts. I think in my classroom it would be a source for students to use who wanted to know more about a particular topic in history. I also think it would be fairly simple to record a lecture for a student who was absent and that could be put on the class blog for a student to access. It could even be used for those who wanted to review a difficult concept in class.

With SMARTboards, there is also the possibility of creating a podcast of whatever you write or draw on the board and your voice. This would be especially useful for a substitute in music when talking about note drawing, etc. Podcasts would be a great way for students to review certain topics before a test too!
